Mark Your Calendar: Cincinnati Climate Week Is Here (June 8–14, 2026)

Greater Cincinnati is throwing its first-ever Climate Week-a whole week of local events, big ideas, and everyday ways to pitch in. EcoPal will be at the Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit too. Come say hi.

Okay, real talk: you do not need a composting PhD or a closet full of bamboo socks to care about the planet. You just need a week where your city says, “Hey, let’s try something together.” That week is almost here.

Mark your calendar: June 8-14

Cincinnati Climate Week launches June 8-14, 2026 as a dynamic, region-wide celebration of climate action across Greater Cincinnati.

It is presented by Green Umbrella in partnership with the Climate Week Network-a global initiative that helps cities launch and scale Climate Weeks around the world. Cincinnati is on that map for 2026, and honestly? We are pretty proud to be doing this for the first time.

This is not one giant festival in a single parking lot (though we love those too). It is a decentralized week: organizations all over the tri-state can host in-person and virtual events that spotlight local solutions, share expertise, and nudge all of us toward a more resilient future-without making anyone feel like they showed up to the wrong meeting.

Dozens of events. All week. All over Greater Cincinnati. That is the vibe on the poster, and we are here for it.

Why this feels different (and good)

Climate news can feel heavy. Climate Week flips the script: it is a invitation to show up curious.

  • Already deep in sustainability? You will find peers, speakers, and ideas that recharge you.
  • “I care, but I am not sure where to start”? Perfect. This week is built for you.
  • Skeptical friend who thinks “eco” means lecture? Drag them to something fun-a talk, an expo, art, an EV showcase-and let the city do the convincing.

Cincinnati joining the Climate Week Network matters because it says our region is not waiting for someone else to go first. We are stitching climate action into local pride-the bridge, the neighborhoods, the orgs you already know-so “doing something” feels like belonging, not homework.

So… what could you do that week?

You do not have to do everything. Pick one thing and let it count:

  • Host or co-host something if you are part of a school, faith group, business, or club-even a lunch-and-learn counts.
  • Show up to one event you would normally scroll past. A poster session. A neighborhood tour. A webinar in your pajamas.
  • Bring one person who would not go alone. That is collective action in its simplest form.
  • Try one habit for seven days: meatless Monday, bike one errand, fix something instead of tossing it, say no to one single-use thing.
  • Ask one question at a booth or panel: “What works here?” “What is realistic for my block?” “What can kids do?”

Climate Week is a mirror: it reflects what a community is willing to try together. If you have been thinking, “I should do more, but I do not know what,” this is your nudge. No guilt trip required.

EcoPal at the Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit

Inside Climate Week, one anchor event is the Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit-the region’s largest sustainability conference, also presented by Green Umbrella.

Friday, June 12, 2026 · Sharonville Convention Center · full day (roughly 8 a.m.–6 p.m.)

Expect 100 speakers, an exhibitor expo, poster sessions, art and performances, networking, and yes-an EV car show. Keynote speaker Dr. Rebecca Carter headlines the day. If you have been meaning to see what “serious regional climate work” looks like up close, this is it.

EcoPal will be exhibiting again at the Summit. Please stop by our booth-whether you are a sustainability pro or someone who just wandered in because the coffee smelled good.

We would love to show you:

  • How EcoPal turns everyday choices into something you can see-impact, community, and habits that stick.
  • Why collective action beats going it alone (your effort + everyone else’s adds up fast).
  • What lasting change actually looks like when it is local, practical, and not preachy.

Come chat. Ask anything. Tell us what you wish an app could help you do. We are listening.

A quick note from your friendly Climate Week Ambassador

Subha Karthik, Cincy Climate Week Ambassador, June 8–14, 2026

Subha Karthik is serving as a Cincinnati Climate Week Ambassador this year-basically, a neighbor who will help spread the word, connect people to events, and cheer on anyone taking a first step (or a fiftieth).

If you see us out during the week-or at the Summit-say hello. Tell us what you are trying. Tell us what feels hard. We are not here to judge your tote bag collection; we are here to help more people find a lane that fits.

See you out there

June 8-14, 2026. Put it on the fridge, the group chat, or that calendar you keep meaning to update.

However you show up-curious, cautious, or fully charged-there is room for you in Climate Week. And if you make it to the Summit, come find EcoPal. Let’s turn a big regional moment into habits that last long after the banners come down.

We will see you soon, Cincinnati.
