Some conversations don’t just fill an hour - they remind you why you started.

I was honored to join Aruna Ramamurthy on her beautiful podcast, Align With Your Dharma - a show about living true to our authentic selves. Our episode, Collective Action, Lasting Change, was a chance to share EcoPal’s story and, more importantly, to talk about something bigger: how ordinary people, choosing intentional habits together, can reshape the world we share.

Thank you, Aruna

Aruna, thank you for the invitation - and for holding space where purpose, courage, and everyday action can meet. Align With Your Dharma invites guests and listeners to come home to who they really are. Sitting with that spirit made it easy to speak from the heart about EcoPal: not as an app alone, but as a movement rooted in connection, harmony, and the quiet power of showing up.

What we talked about

We traced the spark behind EcoPal - from birdwatching and wonder at nature’s collective rhythm, to a hackathon that turned an idea into a prototype, to the #IamAnEcoPal invitation to live the change we want to see.

We also got practical: how landfills and everyday waste connect to climate; why “wish-cycling” can hurt more than help; how cities, recyclers, and neighbors can make the right choice the easy choice; and why perfection was never the goal. Progress is. Intention is. And community is what turns a single good habit into a lasting shift.

The through-line of the conversation - and of EcoPal’s mission - is simple enough to live by:

Collective action. Lasting change.

You don’t have to do everything. You don’t have to be perfect. You do get to take one intentional step today - refuse what you don’t need, reduce what you can, reuse with care, recycle right, compost when you can - and invite someone else along. That ripple is how movements begin.
